<p>Steven Taylor, age 41, of Ogallala, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, NE. For the last 9 months, Steven waged a courageous battle against stage 3B testicular cancer. He never lost his positive outlook and cheer.</p> <p>Steven was born on July 1, 1979 in Ogallala to Leonard and Glenda (Reed) Taylor. Living in Ogallala his entire life, Steven never met a stranger. As a young boy, his love for gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and especially people, blossomed. Many knew him as the little boy in the front yard with the garden hose.</p> <p>Steven loved school. He met so many kind and wonderful teachers and classmates. Many others knew him as their school or lunch room buddy, and he developed some special bonds with several classmates and teachers. He showed people how to love and be kind.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was always a hard worker. In High School he participated in the Job to Work Program first at the pet shop, &quot;Critters and Fins&quot;, then later at the farm store, &quot;Wheeler&#39;s&quot;, always making more friends along the way. He stayed working at the farm store part time for 4 years as it changed ownership several times before the business closed. At that point, he began working full time for his family&#39;s, &quot;Merry Maid&#39;s&quot; franchise where he stayed for over 18 years. In 2012, he accepted a position as a full time Porter at Quality Inn in Ogallala. He spent 7 years there, working until the day he was hospitalized for treatment.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Theresa Taylor; and Vic and Swaney Reed.</p> <p>Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Leonard and Glenda, of Ogallala; 1 brother, Ron (Sarah) Taylor, of Suffolk, VA; 3 sisters; Laura (Allen) Flacht, of Broadway, VA; Stephanie (Bill) McPeak, of Ogallala; Jennifer (Brandon) Hood, of Fort Collins, CO; 2 Uncles, Wayne (Christine) Taylor, of Wahoo, NE; Dennis (Dorothy) Reed, of Olympia, WA; an Aunt, Vicki (Rod) Snogren, of Ogallala; 2 nephews, Lance Taylor, of San Antonio, TX; Allen Flacht III, of Broadway, VA; 2&nbsp;nieces, Amanda Pitzer, of Grove, OK; Jordan McPeak, of Ogallala;&nbsp;and numerous cousins.&nbsp;</p> <p>A Celebration of Life in Ogallala, followed by interment in Ainsworth, NE will be held at a later date.</p> <p>A memorial has been established in his name.&nbsp;</p> <p>Online condolences may be left by going to www.drauckerfh.com and clicking the Share a Memory or the Tribute Wall Button.&nbsp;</p> <p>Draucker Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.&nbsp;</p>

Steven Taylor, age 41, of Ogallala, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland, NE. For the last 9 months, Steven waged a courageous battle against stage 3B testicular cancer. He never lost his positive outlook and cheer.

Steven was born on July 1, 1979 in Ogallala to Leonard and Glenda (Reed) Taylor. Living in Ogallala his entire life, Steven never met a stranger. As a young boy, his love for gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and especially people, blossomed. Many knew him as the little boy in the front yard with the garden hose.

Steven loved school. He met so many kind and wonderful teachers and classmates. Many others knew him as their school or lunch room buddy, and he developed some special bonds with several classmates and teachers. He showed people how to love and be kind. 

He was always a hard worker. In High School he participated in the Job to Work Program first at the pet shop, "Critters and Fins", then later at the farm store, "Wheeler's", always making more friends along the way. He stayed working at the farm store part time for 4 years as it changed ownership several times before the business closed. At that point, he began working full time for his family's, "Merry Maid's" franchise where he stayed for over 18 years. In 2012, he accepted a position as a full time Porter at Quality Inn in Ogallala. He spent 7 years there, working until the day he was hospitalized for treatment. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Theresa Taylor; and Vic and Swaney Reed.
