Mr. John Culver was born on October 22, 1951 to the late Marvin Culver, Sr. and Mary Agnes Weems in Henry County, Alabama. He was one of five blessings.


Up until its closing Johnny attended Newville Rosenwald School. From there he went on to graduate in 1970 from Northside High School.  He later received a scholarship to Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. There he met his then wife Joyce S, Culver. After Chipola College he continued his education at Shaw University.


His favorite sport was basketball and he continued to expand and cultivate his skills throughout various areas of Alabama, Mississippi and Michigan. All throughout his life he was known as the life of the party. 


 Upon employment in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk County he supervised for thirty-eight years until he retired. Along with his career he had one wonderful daughter: Blair Culver.
 

He enjoyed quality time with family and friends. His favorite basketball team was the LA Lakers and his favorite player was the late Kobe Bryant.


He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin Culver and Mary Agnes Culver; one brother: Marvin Culver, Jr.; one sister: Susie Mae Daniels; brothers-in-law: Sammy Salter, Sr. and James Underwood.


On Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the age of 68, surrounded by his loved ones he departed this life and went to his Heavenly Home.


All his beautiful memories live with his loving and caring daughter: Blair Culver of Orlando, Florida; his siblings; Christine Salter of Dothan, Alabama, Corrine Salter of Headland, Alabama, and Gwen Underwood of West Palm Beach, Florida; and sister-in-law: Alice Culver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, other relatives, co-workers, and teammates.
