Obituary

Sharon Scott passed peacefully on August 5, 2020 at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre.

Sharon Naomi Fate was born in Ponoka on June 13, 1947 to Quen and Del Fate, and married Leon Scott in 1984.  After finishing High School Sharon became an LPN and practiced her nursing at the Centennial Centre, and the Ponoka General Hospital, and later the medical clinic. Sharon and Leon never had children of their own, but she always knew how to make her many nieces and nephews feel special and loved.  Sharon had a wide variety of interests.  She crocheted and knitted many lovely little outfits for new babies in the family, and countless afghans and toques for the newborns with the ladies of the hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years.  Sharon loved her dogs, camping, playing bridge, or any card game.  She had a quick and witty sense of humor and loved to laugh - she befriended almost everyone she met.  Sharon will be greatly missed by her family and many lifelong friends.

Sharon was predeceased by her husband Leon.  She is survived by her sister Mitzie Wiancko; brothers Dave (Gerry) Fate and Ken (Helen) Fate; sisters-in-law Marion Campbell, Viv (George) McCaughey, Lyn (Barry) Christensen, Gwen (Dave) Andrews, and Linda Scott; brothers-in-law Jack Scott, Ervie Scott, and Eddie (Irene) Scott;  and too many nieces and nephews to count, but each one dearly loved.

There will be a private burial at Zion Church Cemetery at a later date.
