<p>Margaret M. Cole, formerly of Pawtucket and Barrington, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2020.&nbsp; She was 100 years old.</p> <p>&nbsp; Margaret was the wife of the late Everett B. Cole of Barrington, RI.&nbsp; She was born in Central Falls, RI, the daughter of Richard Metcalf and Margaret Lang Metcalf, born in Preston, England, and Paisley, Scotland, respectively.&nbsp; Margaret was a lifelong RI resident.</p> <p>Margaret was a bookkeeper at Hemphill Company in Central Falls for thirteen years and in the executive office at Wanskuck Company in Providence, RI, for three years.&nbsp; She subsequently worked in the installment loan department at Industrial National Bank in Providence.</p> <p>&nbsp; A former member of the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church in Pawtucket, Margaret was a teacher and superintendent of the Pre-Primary Church School.&nbsp; She was also a member of the Girls Service Club.&nbsp; After moving to Barrington, Margaret became a member of the Warren Methodist Church in Warren, RI.&nbsp; Margaret enjoyed reading mystery novels, cooking, boating and fishing, and camping with her family.&nbsp; In her later years, she enjoyed watching Patriots football games, NASCAR and IndyCar racing, and Wheel of Fortune on television with her son Roger.</p> <p>Margaret is survived by two sons, Russell E. Cole, and his wife Dorothy Cole, of Fort White, FL, and Roger C. Cole of Rehoboth, MA; a brother, Arthur W. Metcalf of Tiverton, RI; five nephews, David, Richard, Douglas, Stephen, and Timothy Metcalf; and two nieces, Diane Sanna, and Cynthia Hutchinson. Margaret was the sister of the late Douglas A. Metcalf of Warwick, RI, and the aunt of the late Janice Kortyna.</p> <p>The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at the Silver Creek Manor, in Bristol, RI, who treated and cared for Margaret over the years, as well as the staff of Beacon Hospice.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Margaret to: Beacon Hospice Care, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914 or First United Methodist Church, 25 Church Street, Warren,RI 02885. Funeral services will be private.</p>
