<p>Thelma Diane (Short) Price, age 70, was called home by her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 9, 2020. She passed away in Pensacola, Florida surrounded by family and loved ones.</p> <p>Diane was born and raised in Pensacola, FL and later called her home DeFuniak Springs in Walton County, FL. She leaves behind a legacy as an extraordinary pianist and schoolteacher for the Walton County School District. She played the piano for the Glory of her Lord at church and at functions from baccalaureates to weddings. When she wasn&rsquo;t playing the piano, she was teaching piano lessons. Diane (known by her students as &ldquo;Mrs. Price&rdquo;) touched countless lives through her love of music and education. Among other subjects, she taught Science at Walton Middle School and was known for her interactive classroom with wildlife and natural artifacts she collected on her many field trips and workshops. Aside from music and education, designing floral creations had a special place in her heart as well. Diane was a creative, talented soul who gave all her heart toward every task and was fully dedicated to seeking God first in everything in life.</p> <p>Diane was an incredibly loving mother who raised three children and cherished her grandchildren. Diane loved to experience life, worked tirelessly and always displayed her love for and faith and trust in Jesus Christ.</p> <p>She is preceded in death by her father, E.T. &ldquo;Thad&rdquo; Short, Jr. and her mother Thelma M. Short. She is survived by her three children, Jason Price and wife Melonie, Jennifer Churchwell and husband David, Jessica Pennington and husband Zack; seven grandchildren Colton and Cason Price, Georgianna and Dalton Churchwell, Delia, Josie and Miranda Pennington; two loving sisters, whom she treasured dearly, Brenda Parsons and husband Jerry, Sharon Colello and husband Nick; several nephews and nieces and their children.</p> <p>A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, from 6 until 8 p.m.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Cluster Springs Baptist Church beginning at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jerry Chumley and Reverend Dean Penzo officiating.&nbsp; Those serving as pallbearers will be Jason Price, David Churchwell, Zack Pennington, Chris Adkins, Nicholas Colello, and Nathan Colello.&nbsp; Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Parsons, Lance Price, Nick Colello, Jerry Parsons, and Cary Gay.</p> <p>To order flowers, please call Mclean&#39;s Florist at (850) 892-3432.</p> <p>The family wishes to express their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the staff of The Residence of Pensacola, Florida where dozens of end of life healthcare professionals provided her with the most loving care to the best of their abilities.</p> <p>Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home.</p>

Diane was born and raised in Pensacola, FL and later called her home DeFuniak Springs in Walton County, FL. She leaves behind a legacy as an extraordinary pianist and schoolteacher for the Walton County School District. Diane (known by her students as “Mrs. Price”) touched countless lives through her love of music and education.
