RIDGELEY, WV – Arlene Louise (O’Brien) Snyder, 82, of Ridgeley, WV, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Dawn View Center. Born September 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ella (Valentine) O’Brien. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, George F. Snyder; sisters, Mable Biser and husband Lloyd, Hazel Abe and husband Elmer, Pearl Kimble and husband Ray; brothers, Edward O’Brien, John O’Brien and wife Nellie, Elmer O’Brien and wife Lillian, Lloyd O’Brien and wife Catherine, and Ray O’Brien; brother-in-law, Redd Fisher. Arlene worked at Miracle Mart and King’s Department Store. She attended Old Furnace Church of the Brethren in Ridgeley, WV. In her free time, Arlene enjoyed sewing and reading. Arlene is survived by two sons, Leslie Hines and wife Christine, and James Hines and wife Ellen; grandchildren, Adam and Christa, Megan and Corey, Becky, Laura, Brian and Angie, Jamie and Ben, Jeannie and Matt, and Jolene and Jamie; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Madiline Fisher; sister-in-law, Barbara O’Brien; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, from 10 am to 12 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 pm with Pastor David Sutton and Pastor Ed Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
