<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Virginia Lee (Young) Helton, of Medora, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Covered Bridge Health Campus on Saturday August 8, 2020. She was 91.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Virginia entered this life on February 7, 1929 in Lee County, Virginia. She was the first daughter of William Ray and Esther Marie (Collins) Young and she was the loving sister to Ralph, Charles, Robert, Paul, Kenneth, and Darlene. Virginia was a graduate of Heltonville High School.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Virginia was united in marriage to Emory Harold Helton on April 21, 1951 in Brownstown Indiana. This union was blessed with three children, Jerry, Rita, and Roy.&nbsp; Emory preceded her in 1967.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She was a loving wife, mother, Granny, and Ninny-Mom.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Virginia worked at the Seymour Shirt Factory, and then became a homemaker and a farmer. She loved taking care of her cows, tending to her flowers, working in her garden, watching IU and NASCAR. She was a member of Vallonia Christian Church.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She leaves a legacy of love to her children, Jerry Helton and his wife Melodie of Medora, Rita Helton Bennett of Medora, and Roy Helton and his wife Paula of Medora, six grandchildren, Jerrie Lynn Burnett, Tyson Helton and his wife Bethany, Tanner Bennett, Kaylee Bennett, Jordan Helton and his wife Alisha, and Jared Helton, seven great-grandchildren, and her sister Darlene Silence and her husband Don of Medway, OH.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her five brothers, and a grand-daughter, April Denise Helton</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Funeral Services will be at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on August 11,&nbsp;2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris Criminger officiating.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Burial will be at Vallonia Cemetery.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 11:00 until time of the service.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Memorials may be written to the Vallonia Christian Church</span></p>

Virginia Lee (Young) Helton, of Medora, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Covered Bridge Health Campus on Saturday August 8, 2020. She was 91.

Virginia entered this life on February 7, 1929 in Lee County, Virginia. She was the first daughter of William Ray and Esther Marie (Collins) Young and she was the loving sister to Ralph, Charles, Robert, Paul, Kenneth, and Darlene. Virginia was a graduate of Heltonville High School.

Virginia was united in marriage to Emory Harold Helton on April 21, 1951 in Brownstown Indiana. This union was blessed with three children, Jerry, Rita, and Roy.  Emory preceded her in 1967.

She was a loving wife, mother, Granny, and Ninny-Mom.

Funeral Services will be at Hague Funeral Home of Medora on August 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris Criminger officiating.

Burial will be at Vallonia Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 11:00 until time of the service.
