Adams, 85, of Jackson, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, at his home.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He was born January 2, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, to George and Irene Ervin Adams.&nbsp; Bill attended Cape Central High School.&nbsp; He and Shirley J. Martin were married May 9, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi.&nbsp; Three children were born to their union, Mike, Tammy, and Mark.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Bill was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #702, working 32 years as an electrical lineman, retiring in 1994.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, where he was baptized March 23, 1959.&nbsp; Other affiliations include Excelsior Masonic Lodge #441, past patron of Easten Star Chapter #91, and charter member of Elks Lodge #2652, all in Jackson</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Loving survivors include his wife of 66 years, Shirley Adams of Jackson; two children, Mike (Kim) Adams of Ballwin, Missouri and Tammy (Kirk) Francis of Bridgeton, Missouri; three grandchildren: Dr. Tyler Adams of Lawton, Oklahoma; Ryan (Lindsey) Adams of St. Peters, Missouri; Amanda (Chris) Linneman and children Paityn and Jayden of St. Charles, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Terry (the late David) Adams of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Adams (2000); three siblings, Jim and David Adams, and Bonnie Poe; and his parents.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to service time, Monday, August 10, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billie J. Adams, 85, of Jackson, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020, at his home.

He was born January 2, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, to George and Irene Ervin Adams.  Bill attended Cape Central High School.  He and Shirley J. Martin were married May 9, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi.  Three children were born to their union, Mike, Tammy, and Mark.

Bill was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #702, working 32 years as an electrical lineman, retiring in 1994.

Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, where he was baptized March 23, 1959.  Other affiliations include Excelsior Masonic Lodge #441, past patron of Easten Star Chapter #91, and charter member of Elks Lodge #2652, all in Jackson

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Riley officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
