William Joshua Caleb Gossett, Age 29, of Athens passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

A native and lifelong resident of Athens, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jim McDaniel.

Survivors include mother, Vivian Hipps-Gossett and wife Tina Gossett-Hipps of Athens, his father Shannon McDaniels and wife Brook,

brothers Hunter Gossett and wife Briana of Cleveland, Makenzee Gossett of Knoxville, Dusty McDaniel of Athens,

sister Emme McDaniel of Athens,

maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Riggs and husband Richard Runyan of Ten Mile and Richard Tuell of Athens,

paternal grandmother, Colleen Elrod McDaniel of Athens,

uncles, Richard “Goose” Gossett and wife Melissa of Decatur, Casey McDaniel and wife Lynn of Athens,

aunt Lottie Herd and husband Donny of Athens,

extended family Lucresa Goodman Denson of Sweetwater, LaToya Moore of Athens, Terri, Darcy, and Laura Moore of Niota, Missy Wattenbarger of Niota, Betsy Riggs Stephens and Sherry Wattenbarger Klient both of Ten Mile,

Roxie Stephens of Tellico, Linda Kay Stephens Ray of Decatur, Eddie Stephens of Harrison Bay and the Arnwine Family,

best friends Christian Fowler, Jacoby Alston and Jamie Rogers, along  with several cousins and numerous friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday August 13 in the Chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Shaver and Rev. Stacy Dockery officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at Ziegler Funeral Home.
