Sandra Sue Schirtzinger Obituary

Sandra Sue Dougherty Schirtzinger, 77, of Pawleys Island, SC and formerly of Reynoldsburg Ohio, passed away on August 7, 2020 peacefully in her beloved home. She was born in Garden City, Kansas on October 10, 1942 the daughter of Alda Alline Dougherty (Gosnell) and Hubert L. Dougherty.

She was known by those she loved as Suzie or Sue. She graduated from Findlay High School in Ohio and attended the Ohio State Beauty School on a scholarship. After working as a hair dresser for many years, Sue was employed and retired from Mount Carmel Health, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a self-taught painter and created countless unbelievable works of art that will be cherished by everyone.

Sue was married to her husband of 58 years Bernard (Pat) who she loved dearly. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister Darlene Pugh. She is survived by her husband Pat, her three children, Patrick Schirtzinger (Susan), Stephanie Schirtzinger, and Natalie Fox (Steve), eight adoring grandchildren Zachery, Ashley, Luke, Patrick, Lance, Lauren, Landon, and Haley and her sister Elaine.

A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at a later date on the beach that Sue loved so much.
