Earline Holden Obituary

Mrs. Earline Holden, the daughter of the late Earl and Adelaide Tate, was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 3, 1945. She received her promotion to Glory on August 6, 2020. Earline received her formal education in the Wilmington Public School System. She graduated from Howard High School. She married Albert L. Holden, Sr. on September 29, 1962. From this union, four children were born. Earline was employed as a Healthcare Claims Adjuster with Blue Cross & Blue Shield and retired in 2000. She was an active member of New Pentecostal United Holy Church in Wilmington, Delaware where she attended The United Christian College and received her Bachelor’s in Theology. She loved music. She joined and sang with the Dickerson Chorus for many years. Earline was an encourager at heart. In her own quiet way, she had the gift of inspiring others. She exemplified the meaning of “charity begins at home and then spread abroad.” She inspired those in her family, church, and community to be their best self. Earline was preceded in death by a brother, Michael A. Tate. She is survived by her husband, Albert L. Holden, Sr.; her children, Cynthia, of Nottingham, Maryland; Albert L. Holden, Jr. (Rhonda); Dwayne and Daryl (Charlotte) of Wilmington, Delaware; her siblings, LeRoy Tate (Joyce) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Charles Tate (Sharlene) of Hampton, Virginia; Earl Tate (Renee) and Deborah Kennard of Wilmington, Delaware; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Ernestine Watts; and a host of extended family and friends.
