James Edward Graham

James “Jim” Edward Graham, 78, of Cartersville passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome. Born on December 21, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky; he was the son of the late Esther Andrews McDonald. Jim served his country in the United States Army and was a sniper in the Vietnam war. He later went on to work for the Department of Natural Resources as a Game Warden and served on the Governor’s Task Force until his retirement. Jim loved every minute of his career. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping and traveled all over the United States in his camper. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time and watching movies with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Denman Graham; his children, Patricia Payne, Lisa Shepherd, Johnny Albright, James Albright, Joseph Albright; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara Thompson. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Due to Covid-19 social distancing will be practiced.
