Frances Bevins

Frances Bevins, 91, of Marble passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in a Graham County nursing facility. She was a native of and had lived in Cherokee County most of her life. She had worked as a seamstress for the Levi Company for seventeen years. Frances then worked at the Andrews Senior Center for the next twelve years. She was a faithful member of the Andrews Church of God where she had served as secretary for many years. Frances enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and taking classes to learn more. She enjoyed working outside, especially in her flowers. She was the daughter of the late Gordon Herbert and Blanche Marie Adams Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, David T. Bevins, who died January 29, 2006. Surviving are her three daughters, Phyllis Stalcup, Carolyn Bevins, and Janice Lunsford all of Andrews; two sons, Ronnie Bevins of Marble and Jess Bevins of Andrews; three sisters, Louise Wilson of Marble, Mary Ann Mull, and Betty Sue Hardin both of Andrews; one brother, James Richard “Bud” Jones of Andrews; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Reverends Curtis Ledford and David Anderson officiating. Interment was in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ryan Bevins, Lucus Stalcup, Levi Stalcup, Wade Ellis, Samuel Wood, and Aaron Hunsucker. Family received friends from 1:00 to 2:45 pm on Sunday prior to the funeral services. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601. Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews in charge of all arrangements. An online guest register will be available at www.iviefuneralhome.com
