Cynthea Brea Sanders, age 53, of Ravenna, went to our Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon August 4, 2020. Her life can be explained in terms as the life cycle of a butterfly, after all she was a science teacher. A butterfly's first life cycle starts from an egg and Cindy was born on September 16, 1966 in Metuchen, New Jersey to the late Richard Wieland and Jone Anderson Wieland Thurmond.  The butterfly’s second cycle is a larva, a caterpillar, hatched from an egg. A caterpillar feeds on plant life and in Cynth’s life she enthusiastically fed on information in her youth enjoying academics, sports and band.  The third stage of a butterfly is Pupa, Chrysalis, and is a transformation called metamorphosis. For Cynthea she vastly transformed to a lifelong educator for Louisville Schools, rescuer of animals, conservationist, ecologist and was a positive influence for all of her family, community and church always giving more than 100 percent. Lastly, a butterfly emerges and Cindy was Baptized into the Holy Spirit.

She is survived by the love of her life husband RL Sanders and they shared five years of marriage; RL’s seven children Ron (Misty) Waddy, Curtis (Amber) Taylor, Jeramy Woolwine, SaRita Jones, Rashid Carter, Chynell (Robert) Moore, and James Carter; 14 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters; RL’s siblings Elder James E. (Ella) Sanders, Deceased Jimmy (Ethelynn) Sanders, Deceased Jonathan Sanders, Doris Jean (Deceased Clarence) Campbell, Alma (Deceased Wallace) Coney, Ernestine Jones, Eddie L. Sanders, Douglas (Karen) Sanders  Tyrone (Karen) Sanders, Paulette Jones, Jeffrey (Linda) Sanders, Marvin Sanders, Roger M.(Sharon) Sanders, Mary Ann (Deceased Adolphus) Benedict; Many Nieces and Nephews that loved Cindy with all their hearts; and her seven siblings Mahlon (Deceased Cindy) Wieland, Aaron Wieland, Daphne Boston, Charissa Wieland, Alethea (David Link) Wieland, Beryl (Don Marshall) Wieland and John Thurmond; niece Alexis (Kevin) Parker; nephews Aaron Wieland and Tannor Boston; and colleagues, friends and thousands of students.
