Obituary
Houston E. Satterlee, 87, of Coffeen, IL passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at 12:25 a.m., at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. Private funeral services will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Rev. Ralph Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.
Mr. Satterlee was born January 5, 1933, in Coffeen, IL, to the late Calvin Edgar & Mildred Gladys (Sharp) Satterlee. He is a 1951 graduate of Coffeen High School in Coffeen, IL. Mr. Satterlee married Luretta Newcum, on August 14, 1954, at the Methodist Church in Coffeen, IL. She survives in Coffeen, IL. He had worked as a Draftsman at Hurst and Roche in Hillsboro, IL for 40 + years, then worked at Fuller Brothers and Kink's Korner in Schram City, IL. He had lived in St. Charles, IL for a short time when he was a boy, but lived most of his life in Coffeen, IL. Mr. Satterlee was a member of the Coffeen Volunteer Fireman; Masonic Lodge in Coffeen, IL, then transferring to Masonic Lodge in Hillsboro, IL; Served on the Olive Hill Cemetery Board; Rocky Ford Park, Inc. and East Fork Township Board, where he served as clerk. He also coached many ball teams for his kids; shot trap and loved to hunt and fish. He never knew a stranger.
Mr. Satterlee is survived by his wife, Luretta Satterlee of Coffeen, IL; four children, Vickie (husband, Richard) Lovellette of Litchfield, IL, Gary (wife, Julee) Satterlee of Hillsboro, IL, Donna Satterlee of Litchfield, IL and Hugh (wife, Angie) Satterlee of Coffeen, IL; six grandchildren, Luke Satterlee, Erika Satterlee, Erin Satterlee, Sarah Kim, John Kim & Alesia Pierce; three great grandchildren, Charlie Elise Satterlee, Finlay Von Satterlee & Nathan August Schmidt. Along with his parents, Mr. Satterlee was preceded by one brother, Hugh Satterlee and one sister, Katherine Richards.
Memorials are suggested to Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.
