URQUHART, James “Fred” It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our James “Fred” Urquhart on July 31, 2020, at the age of 89, in Langley, B.C. Fred was predeceased by his dear parents; mother and father in-law; daughter Leanne; grandson James and brother George. Fred will be forever loved and remembered by his family including his loving wife of 65 years, Doreen “Betty”; daughters Joanne (Bernie) Bandur, Heather (Ian) Carmichael, Patti Urquhart and their families including 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and sister Phyllis. Fred was born in Regina on November 4, 1930 which was his home for 86 years. He was a proud husband, father, papa, great-papa and a loyal friend. Fred celebrated his heritage with the Scottish community and was a member of the Sons of Scotland Camp Balmoral. Fred and Betty travelled to his beloved Scotland on many occasions. His family and friends were the centre of his life and we will remember his smile, heart of gold, humour and valuable life lessons. Fred is now “home”…until we meet again. “Though he may be gone, memory lingers on.” Memorial Service will be held at the beginning of September with details to follow.
