Lynne Elizabeth Jordan, age 61 of Northfield, passed away at home with her family by her side on Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2020. Lynne was born January 22, 1959, in Berea, Ohio to Richard and Lily (Wade) Jordan. Lynne spent her childhood in Ohio, California, and Toronto Canada before settling in Minnesota. She graduated from Wayzata High School and attended Carleton College, where she came to love the town of Northfield. She received a Masters of Business Administration from St. Thomas University. She was a gifted writer, an avid reader and shared her love of language through volunteer work with the children of Northfield’s Greenvale Park Elementary. She loved her family, music, and meeting and chatting with strangers. She is survived by her mother and step-father Lily and Gayle Olson, father and step-mother Dick and Doreen Jordan; children Matthew (Patti) Jordan of Columbus, Ohio, Jacob (Marian) Newland of Northfield, Jenna (Michael) Manning of Mendota Heights; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jennifer and Margo; 2 brothers, Wade and Brock; step sister, Barb; and 2 step-brothers, Brian and Bob. A private committal service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield. Interment will follow. A Celebration of Lynne’s life will be held at United Church of Christ, Northfield, on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lynne’s name are preferred to the Northfield Public Library or the Salvation Army.
