While working at Blevins Arcade in Barnsdall she met her future husband J.L. Chastain of Avant. They were married in Miami, Oklahoma on August 18, 1952 and made their first home in Avant. They eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and started their family of three boys. She was a stay-at-home mom and spent many days sitting in bleachers at sports events and attending boy scout meetings and enjoyed it all. After retirement they moved back to Avant where she volunteered to help cook for the Senior Citizens Center for many years. She was also a member of the Avant Methodist Church for 34 years. In September of 2010 her life’s circle was completed when she came back to her home town of Barnsdall and entered the Barnsdall Nursing Home.
