Tyler James Kott Obituary

Tyler J Kott, age 30, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, surrounded by his wife and family after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Tyler was born August 5, 1989 in Concord, New Hampshire to James M. Kott and M. Robin Cornwell. He was a graduate of Kingswood Regional High School and Plymouth State University.

Starting at a very early age, he participated and excelled in many sports, including football, baseball, and basketball. However, he was an avid enthusiast of all sports. Once his playing days were over, he participated in many fantasy leagues.

Tyler met his wife, Ryan, in 2010 while working together at Dockside Grille & Dairy Bar on Wolfeboro Bay. After college, the two moved from their hometown of Wolfeboro to Portsmouth. After two years, they moved to San Diego, California where they remained for the last five years, making many lifelong friends. Tyler was employed by Cheap Rentals in Mission Beach, San Diego as a sales associate for recreational equipment.

Tyler’s love of life touched everyone who knew him, and he is remembered as the life of the party and a truly easy-going individual. He loved spending time on the water—boogey boarding in the Pacific, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, and floating down the Pemi. He was happiest competing against friends and family in nearly any activity. Tyler spent his days playing and snuggling with his two cats Winni and Copper, his afternoons yelling at the TV when the Patriots game was on, and most evenings at Lifeguard Tower 18 on Mission Beach enjoying the sunset with his wife and close friends.

Tyler leaves his loving wife, Ryan (Gustafson) Kott, his father James M Kott, mother M. Robin Cornwell, stepmother Marylou (Pistacchio) Kott, and his maternal grandparents Ralph Cornwell and Mary (Goodwin) Cornwell.

He also leaves three siblings, Melissa Kott, Kara Chiasson, and Mark Chiasson and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

To honor Tyler, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020. More information will be shared on Facebook.
