Toluca: Wilferd F. Wudtke, 85, of Toluca, passed Thursday July 30, 2020, 2:08 am at the Emergency Room of IVCH, Peru. Visitation will be Wednesday August 5, 2020, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Antioch Christian Church, Toluca. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 am. The Rev. Robert Idell will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Christian Cemetery, Toluca. Memorials may be made to Haitian Christian Project % Antioch Christian Church, Mission Board or to the charity of the donors’ choice. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca is assisting the family with arrangements. Wilferd was born April 8, 1935 in Rutland, Illinois to William and Sadie (Dahlbach) Wudtke, in their home. He married Donna Mae Ball on February 24, 1957 at St. John Lutheran Church, Toluca. She survives in Toluca. Also surviving are his children, Mark (Susan) Wudtke, of Toluca, Daniel (Toni Marie) Wudtke, of Cumming, GA, and Beth Ann (Ronald) May, of Carterville, GA,; nine grandchildren; Jessica and Michael Burgess, of Washington, Ryan Wudtke and fiancée Jackie Anderson, of Champaign, Katherine Wudtke, of Varna, Andrew Wudtke, of Toluca, Adam and Haley Capponi, of Clermont, FL, Dylan and Nicole Wudtke, of Arden, NC, Mason Wudtke, of Kansas City, MO, Samantha May, of Cartersville, GA, Deidre and Steve Guy, Washburn; eight great-grandchildren, Kaden and Isaac Burgess, Evie Wudtke, Luella and Olivia Wudtke, Bella Capponi, Easton and Micah White, Tinsley Guy; two sisters, Dorothy Sunken, of Wenona, Gladys (Donald) Schmillen, of Toluca, along with many nieces and nephews. His parents, brother-in-law’s, Donald Sunken, Donald Lee Ball, Jr., his in-laws, Donald and Edna Ball, preceded him in death. Wilferd was a member of Antioch Christian Church. He served on the church board and the mission board, taught bible school and was a member of the bible study group. He was a member of the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau. Wilferd farmed for many years on the family farm and rented land near Wenona. He was a life and health insurance salesman for different companies Wilferd loved working in his yard and spent time painting pictures as a hobby. He served in the Illinois national Guard Army weapons division, Streator, IL, for seven years. He was stationed and trained at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and For Jackson, SC.
