<p>Mrs. Pamela Sue McDermet, 76 of rural Avon, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Monmouth Nursing Home.</p> <p>She was born February 18, 1944 in Galesburg, the daughter of Joseph and Vada (Adams) Doubler.&nbsp; She married Charles &ldquo;Chuck&rdquo; McDermet in May of 1977 at the Abingdon Christian Church.</p> <p>Pam is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles; her mother, Vada Doubler of Kewanee; two daughters, Julee (and Terry) Wagner of Burlington, Iowa, and Tami Davis of Abingdon; one son, Randy Davis of Monmouth; 6 grandchildren, Shanna, Honesty, Jacob, Nathan, Britta (and Nate), and Cory; 3 step-grandchildren, Taylor, Travis and Maria; 4 great-grandchildren, Colin, Chloe, Alias and Ava; two sisters, Jan (and Hayden) Younggren of Kewanee and Kim (and Larry) Brewerton of Indiana; and one brother, Chad (and Sherry) Doubler of Georgia; and her beloved dog, Sophie.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her father.</p> <p>She grew up in Abingdon and attended Abingdon schools.&nbsp; She worked for and retired from the Admiral/Maytag Factory in Galesburg after 30 years of service.&nbsp; She was a member of IAM&amp;AW Lodge 2063.&nbsp; She was of the Christian faith. Her hobbies included, fishing, bowling, gardening and going to the river boats.&nbsp; She collected Cardinal birds and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. &nbsp;She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Easter, and spending time with family and friends.</p> <p>Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. &nbsp;Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing limitations and face masks are suggested.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Research Hospital.&nbsp; Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.</p>

Mrs. Pamela Sue McDermet, 76 of rural Avon, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Monmouth Nursing Home.

She was born February 18, 1944 in Galesburg, the daughter of Joseph and Vada (Adams) Doubler.  She married Charles “Chuck” McDermet in May of 1977 at the Abingdon Christian Church.
