During his high school years he lettered in baseball, and football. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973 as a part of the “Brown Water Navy,” and was a Boatswain’s Mate on the Aircraft Carrier USS Forrestal. He retired as a millwright with a Local Millwright Union, after which, he was a man who wore many hats. Michael was a proud member of the Tetonia and Milam Masonic lodges; as well as member of the Scottish Rite in Galveston, Texas. Michael felt that the highest praise for his service came in the form of beaming smiles from the children that visited the parades he attended as a part of the Shriners Karts. Michael also owned MB Kelley Steel Fabrication for a number of years. He and his wife Brenda were members of Trinity Baptist Church. They loved spending time together and traveling the world with his sweet puppies, Missy Lou and Booger. Michael was a kind, patient and had a giving soul. He volunteered countless hours with fellow members of the SETX Veterans Group to honor the service of other Veterans.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Aline Kelley, first wife Connie Davis Kelley, son Eugene Harrison, grandson Brandon O’Brien, a brother Steven Kelley and brother-in-law Don Enselek.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Brenda Bilbo of Orange, TX, daughters Ginger O’Brien of Wildwood, GA and Lori Broussard and her husband Carl of Orange, TX, sister Patricia Kelley Enselek of Forney, TX, two grandchildren, Karlee O’Brien and Kirby O’Brien, one great grandchild Allen O’Brien and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Trinity Baptist Church is live streaming this service on our YouTube channel for those who are unable to attend or for those who are especially susceptible to Covid-19.

If you plan on attending the services we ask that you follow all of Trinity's safety measures.
