Patrick J. Rosenella of Throop formerly of Dunmore was a resident at the Gino Merli Veteran’s Home when he passed away on Saturday August 1, 2020 following an illness. His wife of 51 years was Diane Rosenella who passed away on January 22, 2020. Born in Dunmore he was the son of the late Andrew Rosenella and Lucille Tielli Rusin A graduate of Dunmore High School, prior to retirement he was employed as a machinist at Trane Co. Pat was a fan of all sports. He was a long time supporter of Dunmore High School sporting events as well as pulling for his teams the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants. On Sundays and holidays it was Pat who made the sauce and meatballs for family gatherings. He enjoyed going out dancing with his wife and their crew of friends. Pat enjoyed talking to everyone, you could say he never knew a stranger and loved nothing more than sitting around the table with a cup of coffee chatting. Also surviving are daughter Deborah Rosenella, Apex, North Carolina; son Patrick J. Rosenella Jr., Throop; grandson Jacob Rosenella; sister/brother in-law Anthony and Marie Cherundolo, Old Forge; nieces Teri Simmons and husband Kevin, Christina Fisne and husband Tom, and Laura Cippiciani; nephews Ricky Perotta, Michael Perotta and Christopher Perotta, great-nephew Brandon Fisne; great-nieces Sophia Fisne and Ivy Simmons. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center 401 Penn Ave. Scranton, PA 18503. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton.
