Michael Dale Watkins Obituary

Michael Dale "T-Bone" "Bubba" Watkins WELLSVILLE - Michael Dale "T-Bone" "Bubba" Watkins, 50, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his sister's home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 21, 1969, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Dale Watkins and the late Darla (Merriman) Rearley. Michael graduated from Southern Local High School in 1988. He was employed for twenty-five years in quality control for KenTak Products. Having loved to spend his days outdoors hunting and fishing, Michael was a member of the Salisbury Sportsmans Club for almost twenty years where he had previously held the offices of president and recording secretary. He was also an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and, above all else, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Michael had a great sense of humor, and he enjoyed flirting with his nurses and giving them a hard time. The thing he enjoyed most, however, was spending as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters: Kristina Rawson and her wife, Erin, of Columbus, and Rachel Watkins and her fiance, Seth Bradford, of Highlandtown; one son, Tyler Watkins and his wife, Myranda, of Sunbury, OH; his twin sister, Mina Timmons of East Liverpool; and two brothers: Scott Watkins and his wife, Laurie, of Wellsville, and Dennis Watkins and his wife, Dixie, of Lecanto, FL. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Aidan, Logan, Auden, Addalynn, Jenson, Renn, Nova, and Kasen. Michael also leaves behind his five best friends: Bob Park, Glenn Board, Bob Boley, Tim West, and Mike Ford. Friends may call on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to adhere to social distancing guidelines, the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited. While the family greatly appreciates your love and support during this difficult time, they ask that you greet them with kind and loving words instead of a hug or handshake. Also, as mandated by Governor Mike DeWine, face masks are required to be worn while in the funeral home. Online condolences can be posted to the funeral home's website or Facebook page as register books will not be provided in the funeral home during this unprecedented time. Please be understanding of the precautions being taken in the interest of everyone's safety. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Michael's name to: Salisbury Sportsmans Club, c/o Ronald Palowitz, 3466 Stratmore Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44511.
