Lois J. "Jean" (Brisson) HermansonMARQUETTE, MI – Lois Jean “Jean” Hermanson, 85, of Marquette, entered eternal life Friday evening, July 31, 2020, at UP Health System - Marquette. Born December 13, 1934 in Marquette, a daughter of Manuel and Mildred (Cline) Brisson, Jean was a lifelong Marquette resident. In 1950 she married Edwin H. “Sonny” Hermanson and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Marquette. A homemaker, Jean’s family was her life. Survivors include her daughters, Janice (the late Bruce Fletcher) Hermanson and Vicki (William) Lawrence both of Marquette; two grandsons, Andrew and Daniel (Kendra) Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Nova Elizabeth and Fox Robert Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Haapala of Escanaba; a nephew, Bruce Reynolds and his wife, Kathy Pohl, of Sussex, WI; special family friends, Robert Lawrence of Marquette and Bea Marana of Marquette; and several nieces and nephews in the Hermanson Family. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin “Sonny” Hermanson; a sister, Arlene (the late William) Reynolds; in-laws, Donald (Lil) Hermanson, Norman (Janice) Edwards, Marilyn (Gene) Culbertson, Betty Hermanson, Donald Haapala; and a nephew, Robert Reynolds. Graveside services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Thursday, August 6, at 1:30 pm with Rev. Greg Heikkala officiating. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter) P.O. Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855 or to the Hermanson Family, 230 Genesee Street, Marquette, MI 49855.
