Margie Lucille Curran Obituary

Margaret “Margie” Lucille (Lee) Curran, age 87, passed away on August 1, 2020. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. Margie was one of six siblings, and the youngest born to Robert J. and Marie (Sinnott) Lee on August 12th, 1932 in Melrose, IA. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1950. Margie was united in marriage to John Joe Curran on August 12, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Melrose, Iowa. They shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Margie started bookkeeping for John Joe at the Russell Sale Company. In 1974, she began bookkeeping for their cattle order buying service they started, which would later become Curran Cattle Company, with their sons CD and Mike. They bought cattle throughout all of Iowa, Northern Missouri, and Western Illinois. She always felt truly blessed, being able to work with her husband and two sons all the way to her passing. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending all of the family celebrations, and reunions. She loved spending time with her husband John Joe, working together, couples golf, camping, reading a book while he would fish, going to all the family sporting events together, and taking care of John Joe, all the way up to his last day. She had a beautiful relationship with our Lord, and his mother Mary and loved to pray to them, and all the Angels and Saints. Margie is survived by her children, R.D. Curran, Molly Hilderhof, Cathy (Terry) Fuller, C.D. (Mary Lou) Curran, Mike (Kellee) Curran; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Joe, their daughter Anne Theresa, son John Lee, her parents, and her sisters and brothers, and other loved ones. Our father just passed on July 16th, 2020 and our loving mother wanted to go see him as quickly as she could. With that great relationship with our Lord, only 16 days were they apart. Everyday we will think of them both, everyday we will miss them terribly, but what a beautiful love story God created and gave them... Visitation to celebrate both Margie and John Joe’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, opening to the public at 2:00 p.m., with family present to greet family and friends from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Private family services for Margie will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Melrose with interment to follow, right beside the love of her life in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Melrose. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com.
