Torry Aleksander Harris Obituary

Torry Aleksander Harris 1986-2020 Torry's spirit animal was the blue heron. He came to this revelation after many sightings of one particular bird at his favourite golf course. He named him "Rawldy". He said the bird brought him peace and seeing it each week, grounded him and guided him. Torry was a very proud father. He often said his greatest accomplishment was the creation of his 10-year-old son, Dylan Aleksander, who he loved more than life itself. They shared many moments together as Dylan grew up - playing in parks, walking hand-in-hand, making snow forts, going to the arcade, and in recent days becoming YouTubers! Following high school, Torry chose to follow his father Gerry's path by taking a two-year program at Conestoga College and stepping into a career in residential construction. He worked with his brother Ryan and his dad on and off for 20 years along with several other firms. This past year, Torry started a YouTube channel called HonesTy Lounge where he currently has close to 6 thousand subscribers. He was proud of this accomplishment and the day he became monetized was a highlight in his life. He was a faithful son, devoted father, loyal big brother, and fun "Uncle T.T." to Boe, his sister Kelsey's son. Boe, Dylan and Torry spent many hours playing together at the family home and at the cottage in Point Clarke where he vacationed with his "baby sister". His brother Ryan and he loved a competitive game of golf, watching sports on the big screen, a good debate and, in the early days, teasing their younger sister. Torry struggled through his life with many challenges but this did not define him. He met these challenges head on, and he never gave up on life. He passionately loved his friends, his pit bull Kali, his cat Panda, golf, playing poker, the outdoors, and his family. No matter where Torry was in life, he always stayed in touch with his mother, Toby, who gave him hope, strength and unconditional love. Always. Torry was a deeply religious man. He believed passionately in the afterlife and that one day he would go to heaven. Torry has joined his grand-parents April and Alek Olsen, Lionel Harris, and his much-loved cousin James in his final resting place. He will be sadly missed by his surviving great grandmother Katy Harris, his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was beloved by many and his light will be forever missed. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, once we can all be together again.
