Long time Cedar City resident Charles James Hatch passed away peacefully on July 31, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family. Always referred to as Jimmy by his parents he was known as “Chuck” by most others. Chuck was born April 25, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa and was the first born child of Donald James and Georgia Amelia (Neibuhr) Hatch. Charles was dearly loved and always devoted to his family, as a young man the family moved to the state of Washington. Charles attended Camas High School and it is here he would meet Patricia Songer his first wife and mother of his eldest son Troy and eldest daughter Taunja. He was very talented and a skilled welder but, would find his true calling in Law Enforcement in 1974 when Charles joined the Oregon State Police as a Trooper. Charles held many fond memories of his time with The OSP and these days would serve him well as he continued his Law enforcement career as a Deputy and later Lieutenant with the Nye County Sheriff’s in Pahrump Nevada then later joining the North Las Vegas Police Department until he retired concluding 30 years of LE service. Charles met and married his precious wife Elaine (Werber) Hatch in 1992, a union that would blend their two families as one. Adding two precious sons and a beautiful daughter. Charles is survived by his beautiful wife Elaine, children Troy (Julie) Hatch and Taunja (Hector) Mancillas all of Henderson NV. Aaron (Leah) Hatch, Justin (Anna) Hatch and Cheyanne (Nate Jensen) Hatch all of Cedar City Utah. His beloved step children Nichole (Steve) Sheppard of Washington, Brandon (Gergana) Welbourne of Henderson NV, James (Jenni) Welbourne of Lakewood CA and Bobby Nanni of Henderson NV. Grandchildren Bethany, Ashley, Chelsea, Ayesha, Alexa, Aric, Rylee, Eliana, Shawn, Hailee and Alyssa. And 11 Great Grandchildren. His Brother’s Danny Hatch and Terry Hatch both of Nevada, many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a viewing on Friday August 7, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Sunset Canyon Ward located at 2830 West Cody Drive. Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm Pacific time at the Panaca Town Cemetery in Panaca, Nevada. Under the direction of Affordable Funeral Services.
