John Wayne Knostman Obituary

John Wayne Knostman, 81, beloved husband and devoted father was called to his eternal resting place on July 31, 2020. He entered this world on November 1, 1938, in Houston, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Jack and Marian Knostman; brothers, Gary Knostman and Roy Knostman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 27 years, Shelly Knostman; his loving children, Makinzie Knostman (Brandeis Krnavek), Jonathan Knostman, Emma Knostman all of Rockport, Wesley Knostman (Alison) of Houston, Michael Knostman (Clarissa) of Dallas, Jill Knostman of Houston and several grandchildren.

John attended grade school in Bellaire, Texas and graduated from Bellaire High School. In 1963, he graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration with minors in Architecture and Math. John had a successful career in Houston as a certified property manager and commercial real estate agent. He managed high rise office buildings and complexes in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio. John moved to Rockport in 1993 where he designed and built many homes. He owned JK Management Services and continued his career in property management and business management. He was also a Trustee.

Over the years John enjoyed going fishing and hunting. He was so proud of his boat! He cherished attending his kid’s school assemblies and cheering them on at sporting events. His family was priority. He liked all cats and had several over the years. John enjoyed politics and watching FOX news. He appreciated all food, especially sweets. He loved to go to Las Vegas with his wife Shelly. John enjoyed listening to country music, as well as gospel music.

Sadly In 2015 John was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He fought a long, difficult battle in true John style with strength and a fighting spirit until the end.

Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Alzheimer's Association, Rockport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Odyssey After School Enrichment Program.
