Darlene Ann Jaskowiak Obituary

(nee Douglas) Passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020. She was born January 2, 1934 to Birdell and Esther (Chase) Douglas in Evansville, Wisconsin. After her family moved to Bruce, Wisconsin, she met the love of her life, Robert Jaskowiak, at high School in the 9th grade. In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, and the story begins with Robert and Darlene. They had two beautiful children, Patricia (Jay) Kraning of Chicago, IL and Jolene (Jeffrey) Beyer of Milwaukee, WI. Darlene went on to get her Bachelor Degree in Education at University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. She received her Masters of Education from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She taught school for 30 years, then taught ESL for the next 10 years. She was devoted teacher and absolutely loved her career. To describe Darlene, it would have to be adventurous, independent, kind, outgoing, loving, world traveler, and the best mother a child could have. She went on adventures that included seeing the pyramids in Egypt while on a camel, riding an elephant in Thailand, exploring Europe, India, China and South America and exciting places such as Machu Pichu in Peru. All of these adventures she shared with family and friends. When Darlene walked in a room, she lit up the room with her amazing stories of her wonderful life. She leaves her loving daughters, Patricia and Jolene and grandchildren, Asa (Melissa) Kraning of Milwaukee, WI, Caitlin (Dustin) Kraning of Chicago, IL, Douglas (Valerie) Beyer of Milwaukee, WI and great-grandson Carson Beyer. Many nieces and nephews, family and countless friends. They will carry on her love of adventures, with new stories inspired by Darlene. She is now joined with her parents, her beloved husband, her brother Rodney Douglas and sister Leona Jewell. As lucky as we might have thought Darlene was in life, we were the lucky ones. We got to know her and spend time with her. We love you and will always remember you. Memorial Gathering will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darlene’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated. An additional Memorial Gathering will be planned for a later date.
