James "Jim" Lloyd Coate

James "Jim" Lloyd Coate, son of the late James William Coate and Anna Bernice Blair Howard was born in Whitco, Kentucky, December 17, 1945. He entered eternal life Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 74 years, 7 months and 14 days of age at the time of his passing. Jim married Martha Cornett on March 19, 1975. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. Jim was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Cornett Coate of UZ, Kentucky. A son, Clifton James (Amanda) Coate of UZ, Kentucky. Three daughters; Linda Bates of Maryland, Goldie Rucker of Florence, Kentucky and Damaris (Christopher) Hogg of Kingscreek, Kentucky. One brother, Frank (Kay) Howard of Michigan. One sister, Denise Aherns of Michigan. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Adam Bates, Savannah Hovel, Tabitha Rucker, Gabariel Coate and Triniti Whitaker. Also surviving are five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
