Gertie Mae Richard Charles, 73, a resident and native of Opelousas, LA, passed away peacefully on Friday July 31. 2020 at the Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, LA.

Memories of Gertie Mae will forever remain in the hearts of her: sister, Louella (Ronald) Brooks of Aurora, CO; two brothers, Edmond Stewart of Aurora, CO and Alex Richard of Opelousas, LA; three grandchildren, Latoya (Montreal) Henry-Span of Berwick, LA, Nicole Charles of Mastick, NY and Brian (Saroruen) Senegal of Abeline, TX; five-great grandchildren, one god-daughter, one godson and a host of other relatives and friends 

Gertie was preceded in death by: her husband, Aaron Charles Sr.: her son, Aaron Charles Jr., her parents, Edmonia Minix Richard and Jimmy Richard Sr.; four brothers, Jimmy Richard Jr., Frank Stewart, Robert Richard and Dennis Kennerson and one sister, Delores Courtney.
