Peggie Landvatter Salina, Utah Obituary

Peggie Landvatter

Centerfield, Utah – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, Peggie Irene Landvatter, age 90, passed away July 29, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Centerfield, where she had been living for the past year. She was born August 29, 1929 in Blackfoot, Idaho, a daughter of Oscar Laurentz and Irene Lois Lorey Pedersen. She married Ernest J. Landvatter October 20, 1967 in Pocatello, Idaho. He preceded her in death February 3, 2002. Peggie worked as a newspaper writer and editor for the Aberdeen Times in Aberdeen, Idaho for many years. She and her husband had a cabin in Island Park, Idaho and a summer home in Sun Lake, Arizona. After her husband died, Peggie retired to Arizona where she lived until 2011 when she moved to Gunnison, Utah. She lived in Gunnison until she moved in with her daughter, Janet, in Centerfield a year ago. The family is very grateful to Janet and Stephen, who went above and beyond in their care of Peggie, and her sister, Bonnie Wells before she died two years ago. They were there every step of the way. Their service was unwavering and kind as one of them was always there to do whatever was needed. And without complaint or monetary compensation. They are truly heroes in our family. Peggie is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she worked in the Primary Organization. She loved writing, puzzles, reading, flying air planes and square dancing. She is survived by her children: Janet and Stephen Hansen of Centerfield; Charles and Charlotte Wells, Linda and Eugene Metzger, all of Portland, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Hanson; her husband, Ernest Landvatter; her parents; her sister, Bonnie Wells; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Hansen.
