Iva Rose Huckins Lakeview, Michigan Obituary

Iva Rose Huckins

Iva Rose Huckins went to be home with the Lord on July 27, 2020 in her home with her family by her side. Rose was born on May 7, 1927 to Leamon and Mary Lucina (Southwick) Culey, the youngest of 10 children. She attended Fouts Country Rural School in Six Lakes, completing the 8th grade. On March 2, 1945, Rose married the love of her life, Ralph Huckins, in Greenville, Michigan. Rose was a homemaker most of her life and an excellent mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was known as “Grandma Rose” to the Lakeview community and was an inspiration to everyone she met. Rose was also a prayer warrior Whenever there was a need, she would lift it up to the Lord. She was a member of the Lakeview Free Methodist Church for 65 years and served as Sunday school teacher and CLC leader. She loved singing hymns, praying, reading the bible, watching the sunset, flowers, bon fires, nature, going for walks, and playing Skip Bo and Phrase 10. Every Wednesday, Rose went to the Lakeview Area News office and labeled newspapers so they could be mailed. She loved it, calling it “my job”. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her three children: Randal (Linda) Huckins of Coral, Brenda (Stephen) Bonter of White Cloud, and Chari (Louis) Heldenbrand of Linden, Iowa; grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Benn of Titusville, FL, Matthew Huckins of Coral, Mark (Tenille) Huckins of Derry, NH, Karina (Eric) Jensen of Grant, Natalie (Mike) Jenerou of Newaygo, and Michael (Tesa) Heldenbrand of Iowa; great grandchildren: Eric, Jacob, Zachary, Alyssa, Caleb, Jacoby, Leilani, Andrea, Stephen, Delanie, Chase, Olivia, Violet, Toni, and Sarah (Brenden); and great great granddaughters Sage and Sophia, plus many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister, her husband Ralph, her granddaughter Baby Starr, and her siblings: Ben, Dessie, Andrew, Effie, Venus, Florence, Mary, Rea, and Ray. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Michigan for their loving care. Per her request, cremation has taken place and interment will be in Pine Cemetery in Coral. The family is holding a private service at this time. Brigham Funeral Home is servicing the family. Condolences may be shared at www.brighamfuneralhome.com.
