Margaret L. Anderson

Margaret L. Anderson, 90, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Meriden Care Center in Meriden. She was born in Salamanca NY, to the late John Joseph and Iva Almira Johnson Fitzgerald and was the oldest of nine children. She graduated from Salamanca High School and worked as a cashier at Woolworths until her marriage in 1949 to Richard E. Woodworth. They had two children, Carol L. (Gene) Welles of Cheshire and Richard E. (Reta Critchfield) Woodworth Jr. of Kaysville Utah. Besides her children, she is survived by, three siblings, William E. Fitzgerald of Little Valley, NY, Mary P. Fitzgerald Vik of Malvern, AR, and Judith D. Fitzgerald Redeye of Anchorage, AL. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, who will miss her and remember her as a loving mother and grandmother. Margaret was predeceased by her 1st husband Richard E. Woodworth and her 2nd husband Thomas Anderson. She was also predeceased by her brothers, James R. Fitzgerald, John J. Fitzgerald Jr., and sisters, Helen Fitzgerald Gall, Elizabeth Fitzgerald Gilbert, and Loretta Fitzgerald Day. Margaret's family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at the Meriden Care Center for all the loving care given to our mother, and the support given to us over the past 15 years. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday, February 3rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 750 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will take place in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden in care of arrangements.
