Rodney Keith Windley was born August 21, 1964, in Morehead City, North Carolina to proud parents, Drs. Lathan A. Windley and Flossie Jones Windley. He was the older of two siblings. Rodney’s education began in the public-school system of Johnson County, Iowa, where his parents attended graduate school at the University of Iowa. Later when the family moved to Maryland, Rodney attended public schools in Baltimore County and was graduated from Randallstown High School in 1982. While in high school, Rod enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and was a standout first baseman for the Liberty Road Little League Baseball Team. After high school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in Communications Studies. His professional career of over 25 years was spent in the sports entertainment field, where he worked in television production covering hockey, baseball, and other sports. He worked for Fox Sports Prime in California for over a decade and later moved to Florida where he served as an Associate Producer/Director for Fox Sports Florida. He also spent a season in Maryland with MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network). Rodney passed away during the early morning hours of July 11, 2020. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Flossie E. Jones Windley, his devoted sister, Dr. Monica Windley Walker, his brother-in-law Bobby G. Walker, Jr., his most special and adored niece, Alexa L. Walker, and a host of loving cousins, colleagues, and friends from across the country.
