Lawrence Russell Anthony

Anthony, Lawrence (Luke) Russell, age 87 of Stanley, Nova Scotia passed away on July 18, 2020. He was the son of the late Russell and Ruby (Nix) (Anthony) Mosher. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Sheila (McPhee), daughter Lori (Troy), son Dan, grandchildren Ray, Erin (Colton), Hunter and great granddaughter Ava, sister Rae, brothers Dougie (Stella) and Lloyd (Jackie), many nieces and nephews. Beside his parents and stepfather Bill Mosher, he was predeceased by his brother Paul and great granddaughter Audrey. Lawrence lived a very full life of work and fun. He was a First Class Stationary Engineer and his careers spanned from Military Police to Railroads and Lumber Mills to Oil Refineries and he retired from the Hants Community Hospital. He had many hobbies in sports and music. He curled, golfed and played hockey and also officiated in both baseball and hockey. He was a member of many choirs over the years, including the Newport Male Choir, the Millstream Barbershop Chorus and the Communities Choir. He was also very involved in community and church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, N.S. phone 1-902-633-2431 or please visit our web site at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book and send private condolences, due to COVID-19 there will be no visitation and a service will be held at Brooklyn United Church on July 25/20 at 2:00 pm with limited seating in the church and weather permitting there will be additional outdoor seating (bring a chair), followed by interment at the St. Stephen Anglican Church cemetery, Stanley, Nova Scotia.
