Ila Laurice Gilbert

Laurice Gilbert, age 90, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 4, 2016 in an Atlanta, Texas nursing home. Laurice was born October 8, 1925, in Linden, Texas to David Homer Hamilton and Nolie Hamilton. She was retired from Harp Jewelers in Atlanta, Texas and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, baking, oil painting and spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Michael Gilbert. She is survived by one brother, Morris Hamilton of Linden, Texas; a sister, Margaret Allison of Ida, Louisiana; two special nieces, Lee Ann Hamilton of Jackson, Tennessee, Sharon Brantley of Houston, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Visitation will be from 1 pm -2 pm, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Hanner Funeral Service. Service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gary Davis officiating. Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Linden, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, 306 Baker Street, Atlanta, Texas.
