RAMEY, Vella Elaine – Age 88, formerly of Simpsons Corner, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Veteran’s Unit, Lunenburg. Born in Stanburne, she was a daughter of the late George and Laura (Moore) Drew. Vella was first employed with DeLong’s Farms, Barss Corner and then later with South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater in environmental services where she loved the people and her work. Vella loved to cook and bake and enjoyed tending to her flowers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughters, Josephine (Martin) Walsh, Simpsons Corner; Beth (Andy) Mullen, Hemford; Darlene (Garth) Hyson, Simpsons Corner; sons, Carson, New Germany; Wade (Mayola), Bridgewater; Gregory (Sheila), Lower Northfield; grandchildren, Kim, Dwayne, Matthew, Mark, Laura Lee, Ashley, Cody, Craig, Tanya, Jody and Teresa; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by husband, Tyler Vance Ramey and her long time companion, Rex Pearl Veinot; infant daughter, Sheila; sisters, Phyllis (Harris) Ramey, Hazel (Lee) Tufts, Dorothy (Leo) Eisnor; brothers, Merville (Lois), Carmen (Vinola), Ellis (Beatrice), Lorimer (Carrie), Marshall (Doris), Ford (Muriel), Boyd, Herman and Weldon. Private family visitation will take place with a private graveside funeral service in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany. Rev. Catherine Robar officiating.
