Ruby Padgett Walker

Mrs. Ruby Padgett Walker, 84, passed away at home on Saturday, October 31, 2015. She was born November 8, 1930, in Ducktown, TN, one of fourteen children to the late Willie Nelson, III and Cora Voyles Padgett. Mrs. Walker was a very religious woman and a most loving, kind human being. She was the caregiver for her family and many others. Surviving family members of Mrs. Walker include her sons, Dan Walker; Pete Walker and wife Gaye; Herman Walker, all of Gastonia; Bruce Walker and wife Theresa of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Lisa Lowrimore and husband Tommy of Gastonia; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette Walker, and by her husband, Arnold N. Walker. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, November 5, 2015 at New Hope Church of God with Bishop Chris Seagle officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.
