Susan Alice MacDonell Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce that Susan Alice MacDonell suddenly passed away on Wednesday July 08, 2020 due to heart related issues at her home in Frankford Ontario. Susan was born on March 20, 1953 in Toronto Ontario, to George and Margaret (Telford) MacDonell. Her love for animals and her country are what she was most passionate about. She was constantly saving animals and spent many hours on the road driving an injured animal or bird to the vet, to be treated at her own expense. She was passionate about politics and was not afraid to stand up for what she believed in. As a former lead singer of The Coppertones, a band made up of full time police officers, Susan loved to sing. She particularly enjoyed entertaining patients at local hospitals as a volunteer after her retirement. For many years Susan worked at the Toronto Police Force. She started out as a constable and retired in 2015 as a sergeant. Susan was a dedicated police officer and was greatly respected by her staff and her peers. During her time with the force, she was commended for her bravery in the line of duty. Susan will be sorely missed. She is survived by her father George MacDonell, predeceased by her mother Margaret (Telford) MacDonell, and survived by her brother Paul MacDonell (Jessica MacDonell) and her nephew Tyler MacDonell (Jennifer MacDonell). Because of COVID19, a funeral service will not be held, but a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Goodbye Sue. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Quinte Humane Society, Belleville.
