Mary Rebecca "Becky" Crandall, 73, died peacefully in her sleep at Lenox Care Facility in Lenox, IA on October 26, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 6:30pm, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, West Des Moines. Burial will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Prince Frederick, MD at a later date. Becky was born on November 10, 1942 in Prince Frederick, MD to J. Wilmer and Dorothy Johnson (Howard). She graduated from Calvert High School and later graduated from Queens College in Charlotte, NC with a degree in French. She went on to be a stewardess for PanAm Airlines where she got to travel the world experiencing new people and cultures. She ultimately went to work at Atlantic Research, where she met and later married C. David Crandall. Becky is survived by her husband of 50 years, C. David Crandall; children, John (Nataly) Crandall of Des Moines, Katherine (Andrew) Coady of West Des Moines, Marianne Crandall of West Des Moines and stepdaughter Cynthia (Patrick) Gartland of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren Sarah, Aidan, Micheal, Christopher, Keira, Warren, Declan, Sophia, Rowan, Cain, and David. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas Johnson. Donations may be made in Becky's honor to the American Cancer Society or Special Olympics of Iowa.
