Griepp, age 86, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Watertown. Gordy Hedges will officiate. The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Friday.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Lueck. Active pallbearers will be Skeet Skaalan, CJ Knutson, Clay Kannas, Jake Shama, Nick Adolph and Mike Adolph.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Allen was born on July 11, 1934, in Glad Valley, SD, to Arthur and Emma (Stern) Griepp. His family moved to Lake City, SD, due to the depression and then moved to the Watertown area where he attended school until the 8th grade. At that time, he began to work various jobs building pole barns, road construction, grain bins, sales and farming. He was a born salesman. It was a sure sign he loved tinkering and fixing things when he was whistling.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">On April 8, 1955, Allen married Marjorie Adolph in Watertown. The couple made their forever home at the farm north of Waverly, SD, “where memories were made”.</span></span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Allen loved games including Dominoes and Pinochle. He always had a story or a joke to tell. In his spare time, Allen enjoyed fixing and welding things.
