Bruce Henry Giesbrecht passed away peacefully at his home in Austin at the age of 57.
Bruce was born September 5, 1958 at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. He was an identical twin to Brian. Bruce was born first at 7 lb.13oz. and 3 minutes later Brian was born at 6lb. 13oz..
Bruce was predeceased by his father Jacob H. Giesbrecht and his brother Walter in infancy.
He is survived by his daughter Sacha (Derek) Grimeau and his granddaughter Olivia; mother Katherine Giesbrecht; brother Melvin (Helen); sister Verna (John) Thiessen; twin brother Brian (Doreen); sister Myra (Bruce) Thiessen; sister Brenda (Paul) Doerksen, and brother Gerald. He also has many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He loved all his family dearly and would regularly hug us and tell us he loved us.
He loved mom and would often go check that she was okay, knowing full well that she would send home any goodies she had just cooked or baked. He especially loved her green bean soup.
Bruce was well known in and around Austin. He loved to chat with people on the street and just look out for his neighbours. He had a very soft caring heart.
He got his schooling in Austin and often got into trouble with his partner in crime Brian. They had a fierce bond.
Bruce spent many years working for CN Rail and then carpentry, plumbing with dad or any jobs he could get around town. He would often mow lawns and shovel snow for the MCC Centre and others.
He just loved the outdoors, rides in the country, hunting, fishing and he also loved reading.
We will always remember your big heart and the love you gave so generously. Although you may be gone we will always hold you near.
