Peter Loewen

Peter Loewen was born April 28, 1928 in the Burwalde District near Winkler, MB. He entered in his Lord’s presence at his home near Sidney MB at the age of 88.&nbsp;&nbsp;He grew up on a farm near Burwalde along with the 4 brothers and 3 sisters.&nbsp;&nbsp;He completed grade 8 at the local school with interests in hockey and baseball. <br>Early employment was in the electrical field with his brother.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also did seasonal employment in vegetable harvests. He become involved with local trucking opportunities with gravel and bale hauling. He was married to Margaret Hiebert in 1955.&nbsp;&nbsp;He began farming in the Morden area on the families’ farm while maintaining trucking interests.&nbsp;&nbsp;After son, Lloyd and daughter, Patricia were born they moved to the Sidney farm in 1963.&nbsp;&nbsp;Farming involvement, including custom harvesting and grain transportation until son Lloyd assisted in more off farm business. In time Peter along with brother Elmer purchased Austin Transfer which allowed him to fulfill his passion for trucking. He continued agricultural related transportation until age limited his participation. In later years he was able to enjoy farming along with grandson’s involvement.&nbsp;&nbsp;In all of his life pursuits he felt a calling of God in his life to work hard and to bless others. <br>He is survived by his wife Margaret of 61 years, and his son Lloyd (Kathe) Loewen of Pelican Rapids MN, and daughter Patricia (Gary) Semenyna of Sidney MB, and 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. <br>Colossians 3:23,24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” <br>
