Barbara Jean Zwicker (Tattrie, Kennedy) Born July 10, 1933, in Halifax died on her 87th birthday, July 10, 2020. Barb lived in Seabright for many years and her last years were spent in Northwood, Halifax. She was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Eveline (Soper) Tattrie. She was predeceased by her sister Marge Ferguson; her brothers-in-law Murray Ferguson, Ken Bredy, and Ron Beckerson; her son-in-law Aubrey Kean; her husband Mel Zwicker, and by George Kennedy, the father of her children. Barb is survived by her daughter Susan Kennedy Kean, Oromocto, N.B.; sons Edward (Paula), Dartmouth and Paul (Heather), Morinville, Alberta; stepdaughter Karen Metcalfe (Richard),Dartmouth; stepson Lindsay Zwicker (Trina), Seabright; brother Canon Jack Tattrie (Gail); stepsisters Judy Bredy and Susan Beckerson; stepbrother Paul (Chris) Romkey; grandchildren Barry (Melina),Kennedy, Matt Kennedy,Tim Kennedy, Natasha (Jason) Kean-Clark, Melissa (Brian) Kennedy-Croft, Sarah (Devin) Bentley, Alicia (Rob) Houle; step grandchildren Mackenzie Metcalfe (Stephen Herasimenko), Rebecca Metcalfe (Daylin White), Andrew Zwicker (Nicole Campbell), Brian Zwicker (Jill Gass); great grandchildren Henry Kennedy-Croft, Jackson Bentley, Annabelle Houle; step great grandchildren Xavier Herasimenko, Reznor White, Ainslie Jean, Marshall Zwicker, Waylen Zwicker, and many nieces and nephews. Barb worked at Sears for 25 years and while a girl in CGIT, she spent time at Pier 21 with the war brides and children coming to Canada. She also taught Sunday School at St. Mark’s Anglican Church and St. Matthias Anglican Church. Barb requested any donations be to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. We would like to thank Siju Mathew and the staff at Northwood who treated Barb with compassion, professional care, and love. Graveside service with social distancing to be held on Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at Beech Hill Cemetery, Seabright. Rev. Brieanna Andrews officiating. The service will be livestreamed at rawalker.ca for anyone who cannot attend in person
