Dennis J. Richard, 71, of Lawrence, MA, passed away at home on April 17, 2015.

Born in Cambridge, MA, on March 31, 1944, to the late Joseph W. and Irene (Mailloux) Richard, Dennis was a graduate of Andover High School.

Dennis worked as a Stores Group Leader for Raytheon for over 40 years before retiring in 2006. During his life, Dennis was a member of a variety of fraternal organizations including the Lawrence Knights of Columbus, the Lawrence Elks, Holy Family Hospital Men’s Guild, and various bowling leagues. He attended Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence and more recently St. Augustine’s in Andover.

In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed fishing, playing 45’s with friends, and spending time on vacation with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Hanson) Richard; sister-in-law, Donna Hanson; daughter, Heather Demers and her husband, Allen, of Salem, NH; son, Dennis Richard of Lawrence, MA; and daughter, Dawn Elder and her fiancé, Dan Mirisola of North Reading, MA. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Cody, Kayla, Emma, Lina, Alanna, Owen, Riley, and Casey, with whom he loved spending his time, as well as many other family members and close friends.

Friends and loved ones are invited to call on Friday, April 24, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Arthur Scott Funeral Home, 298 S. Broadway, Lawrence, 01843. A memorial service is scheduled to be held immediately following calling hours at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel.

In his memory, Mr. Richard would ask people to please consider donating blood and becoming an organ donor.
