James William Doucette Obituary

James William Doucette (89) of Tantallon died peacefully on July 9/20 at the QE II surrounded by family. Jim is predeaced by his parents, Joseph Benjamin and Ruth Francis (Fraser), his first wife Genevieve Rose (Mitchell), brother Ben (Marion) and 2 infant children. Jim is survived by his second wife, Velma May (Keizer), siblings Don (Irene), Jack (Betty-Anne), Helen (Ed) Maithus, Wayne (Vera) and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with Velma , Jim will be dearly missed by his children, Jim (Beverly), Bill (Lorraine), Sheila (Karmen) Brison, Steve (Pam), Tom (Erica), Lisa (Stephen) King, step children Darrell Webber, Cindy (Scott) McLearn, grandchildren, Joe (Laura), Dan (Sherisse), Christine (Curtis) Giles, David (Terri-Lynn) Seaboyer, Joanna (Daniel) Shannon, John (Brooke), Frank (Marisa) , Beth, Matthew, Kyle Bonin, Caleb King, Step grandchildren, Benjamin McLearn, Kelsey (Jonathan) Lapointe, Courtney Hooper, Cassidy Hooper and 14 great-grandchildren. Jim was a believer in , and a follower of Jesus Christ. He loved to sing and play the guitar, piano and organ for others, singing songs of praise and worship to his Heavenly Father. He was a member of Full Gospel Church. Jim was employed for many years as a salesman with Eaton’s and London Life and in his early years operated Doucette’s Grocery Store on Chebucto Road with his dad. Jim loved the beauty of this province, Nova Scotia. He and Velma travelled nearly every road, side road, back road and dirt road in Nova Scotia and he could tell you every detail of what they saw. The family would like to thank the staff of 8.4 of the QE II for their exceptional care of Jim and his family. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Full Gospel Building Fund. Due to the Pandemic, the funeral is by invitation only.
