Obituary

Eternal rest grant unto Paul, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul and all the souls of the faithful

departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.

Paul Maro entered into Eternal Rest peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 10:46am, at the age of 80. He was anointed and received the Apostolic Blessing shortly before he died.  Survived by his sister Jane Gaudynski (Jerry), wife of 60 years, Bernadine, the couple have three Children; Michael (Debra), Scott (Shawn), and Lynda (Mike); Grandchildren Sarah, Laura, Nicholas, Jennifer (Corey), Jessica, Johnathan, Zachary and Amanda; Great Grandchildren Georgie, Charles, Caleb, and one on the way.

Paul was born in Cudahy, WI on March 3, 1936 to Paul and Mary (Szeles) Maro. Serving his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, he never missed an opportunity to offer prayers on behalf of service men and women around the globe. United in Holy Matrimony in 1955, he and Bernadine never missed an opportunity to share their faith with all who were part of their lives and at times with those who were not.  All who know them well, understand that their Catholic Faith – the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary – are the central focus of their life together.  As the richness of the faith continued to grow in his life, he (and Bernadine) met with Fr. Bernard Riser in June 1987, Pastor of The Church of the Epiphany, and through him were instrumental in restoring Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration to the parish in January 1988. This gift of Love became a Light to other churches in Archdiocese of Minneapolis / St. Paul.  Twenty-Nine years have since passed and Perpetual Adoration has spread widely across the Diocese where this Devotion continues to blossom for generations to come.  Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and increased Love for the Most Holy Eucharist, Paul was received into Carmel OCDS on May 22, 1988 under the tutelage of Fr. G Dvorak and Fr. R. Altier through to his final profession, taking the name Paul Mary of The Blessed Mother. His life of service continued as an Usher, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister to the home bound and hospitalized in Coon Rapids, MN and Apache Junction, AZ.

Paul leaves his family with a strong faith. He wants us to remember that The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the most efficacious prayer we can offer, a gift of Jesus to the Church - which He established; where at the words of the priest, the bread and wine, are changed into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus. This Sacred Species is then reserved in the tabernacle and is present for us to worship and adore in the chapel, where he spent many hours in prayer.

Beside humble gratitude, Paul wants to stress his request for continuous prayer in these times. There will be an hour reviewal at the church prior to the Rite of Christian Burial, where he is requesting the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Glorious Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary be led by his Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Please join the family in praying for the repose of his soul which will be held at The Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids, MN on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:30am, with reviewal at 9:30, Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 9:40am and Rosary at 10:00am.

Thank you for the outpouring of prayer and sacrifices you have shared in support of Paul and his family during this beautiful journey to Eternal Life.

Following the Internment, Paul’s family invites you to join them for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church.
