Burlington – Eleanor Ethel Wharton Richter, 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health.

She was born in Queens, NY on November 12, 1936 to the late James and Eleanor Roos Wharton and was the wife of the late William Richter, Jr.

Eleanor enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling and vacationing at the mountains and the beach.  Her true joy however was found in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Richter and wife Kathy of Georgia, John Richter and wife Teresa of Graham; daughter, Kathy Maricle of Arizona; grandchildren, Sunni Parsons and husband Phyl, Chris Richter and wife Tiffany, Alan Richter, Brittany Flynn and husband Sean; five great grandchildren; sister, Barbara LaBella of New York and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
